| Most farmers would kill hogs when the weather turned cold in the fall. Neighbors would help with the slaughter and it might take two days to kill the hogs, cut up the meat, put the hams and shoulders down in salt and grind and stuff the sausage. This was a common sight in the old days. You never see this any more. |
