The Market is long gone. It stood about midway the block between Talton's Drug Store and Byrd's Hardware. |

Mr. Crawford and his wife were always nice to me and I very much looked forward visiting their store. |

If you were lucky, you might look across Broad street and see the old Durham and Southern steam locomotive going through town. |
