Pear Cake

I have an abundance of pears on my trees on the farm. They are the old fashion Keifer pears, the kind you remember as a child. I love the crunchy, sweet taste of the pears much better than the ones you see in the supermarket. They are also good for making preserves and for baking.

What we don't consume, I give to friends. If you would like some pears, give me a call.

Last night Becky and I baked a pear cake from a recipe that I have used in the past. It is made with three different kinds of sugar, pears, nuts, etc. I think it is delicious.

Keifer pears

Pecans from our pecan trees. The recipe calls for walnuts.

In the bundt.

The finished product. You can add glazing if you like, but it is sweet enough without it.
